    Destination Information

Queensland is full of exciting areas to explore, where you can have new adventures and make lasting memories. Bask in the sun along the seemingly endless coastline, go trekking through the vast expanse of the outback, and go for a hike through the luscious rainforest that sweeps along the coast.

Dive and snorkel along the biggest coral reef in the world, the Great Barrier Reef, and take time out to explore the tropical islands that dot this natural wonder. You won’t be short of things to do in this glorious state.

    Mike Ball Dive Expeditions

Experience world-class scuba diving on the Great Barrier Reef and the Coral Sea on Australia’s most awarded liveaboard, Spoilsport.

Leading the way in the Australian dive industry since 1969 Mike Ball Dive Expeditions operates exciting 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7-night liveaboard scuba diving expeditions. Departing from Cairns, explore some of the best dive sites on the Great Barrier Reef , the Coral Sea and the renowned Yongala Wreck. Enjoy spectacular biodiversity on the northern Great Barrier Reef including the world-famous Cod Hole. You can also venture out into the remote Coral Sea for exciting big fish action, shark encounters and excellent visibility.

As well as regular expeditions to the spectacular Great Barrier Reef and Coral Sea, Mike Ball Dive Expeditions frequently operates some extraordinary experiences.

If it whale action that you are seeking, then make sure you join one of our Minke Whale expeditions.  Dwarf minke whales travel through the Great Barrier Reef each winter, with most sightings occurring during June and July.  The Great Barrier Reef is the only location where snorkel and dive tours with minke whales are available and Mike Ball Dive Expeditions is one of a handful of operators licenced to operate them. It is a truly remarkable moment when these big, beautiful whales slowly approach you and glide gracefully past.

Spoilsport is Australia’s most awarded dive liveaboard, custom-built for diving and with a twin-hull design that maximises space, stability, and comfort. Their procedures allow greater freedom for divers with an ‘open dive deck’ policy resulting in no restrictions on bottom time.

Great diving, just as you like it.
