Wakatobi Dive Resort
Wakatobi Resort is one of the most secluded and pristine destinations on the planet, and one of the most socially conscious and earth-friendly. Located 1,000 kilometres east of Bali, this oceanfront retreat is a favourite with discerning divers and snorkellers. Surrounded by some of the most pristine and bio-diverse reefs on Earth, the resort’s famous House Reef has been named the world’s best shore dive. There are also over 50 additional sites visited by the resort’s fleet of custom dive boats. Wakatobi lies at the heart of the coral triangle. The area is also home to Indonesia’s largest barrier reef and the third largest national marine park. Whilst diving at Wakatobi, you’ll not only see beautiful vistas or pristine coral reefs, but also abundant colourful reef fish and rare and unusual cryptic “critters”. Destination Information

    South Sulawesi - Wakatobi

Wakatobi is located in a remote corner of Indonesia, in South East Sulawesi. Interestingly the name “Wakatobi” is an acronym of the four main Tukangbesi Islands: Wangi-wangi, Kaledupa, Tomia, and Binongko. There are a total of 143 islands in this region, however, only 7 of these islands are inhabited. The majority of the population in this gorgeously remote part of the world are part of the Bajau community, renowned for their nomadic sea-faring way of life.

The islands are home to flourishing ecosystems and natural marvels. Sandy beaches framed by towering palm trees, mysterious cave systems, bustling mangroves, luscious forests and stunning colourful coral reefs.

If you’re looking for a remote tropical paradise then look no further.
