Gizo Hotel, is conveniently located right opposite the waterfront dock and adjacent to the markets as you arrive into the Western Province. This makes it the central meeting place in Gizo town.
Gizo is situated beside the island’s only seaport and is only a 5-minute boat ride away from Solomon Airlines’ domestic airport that offers multiple daily flights connecting to the country’s capital, Honiara. The flight from the capital takes about 1.5 hours. Guests are then met at the airport on Nusatupe Island and transferred by a 5-minute boat ride to Gizo Hotel.

Built in 1970 and owned by an Australian family, the hotel comprises 51 rooms that encompass a charmingly landscaped swimming pool. It first underwent renovations in 1994 and again in 2015, resulting in the refurbishment of rooms and facilities.

The hotel is comprised of 4 two-level blocks facing either the waterfront road or to the swimming pool in the centre of the hotel grounds. First floor rooms are accessible by stairs and the hotel also has several interconnecting rooms available for families. The split level open air “Leaf Haus” restaurant and bar offers a wide variety of fresh local cuisine in the relaxed upstairs restaurant, and fresh ocean breezes and cool drinks in the downstairs bar. Local entertainment is a regular feature.
